The Salvation Army has been serving Bowling Green since 1901. The Center of Hope was built in 1998. The shelter has 75 beds and the soup kitchen serves in excess of 100 individuals daily. The Bowling Green Salvation Army has a small staff that worked with nearly 6000 volunteers serving in excess of 30,000 hours in 2012.

COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES Our Independent Living program seeks to help young adults who are homeless but were in State’s care on their 18th birthday or are currently committed to the State’s care system. Common Sense Parenting® (CSP) is a practical, skill-based parenting program that every family can use. The program’s logical strategies and easy-to-learn techniques address issues of communication, discipline, decision-making, relationships, self-control and school success.
