BGACC Christmas Party 2013
December 20, 2013 - Our Christmas Party was a little later than usual this year, but still a fun time for all who attended. Great food, some dancing and silliness, door prizes and a recap of all the charity work the club has done in 2013. We wish all of our friends a Merry Christmas and the very best the New Year can bring! Be sure to join us in the coming months for all of the events we will have planned.
Vettes, Pets & Families - September 28, 2013
On Saturday, September 28, the Bowling Green Assembly Corvette Club held its annual charity car and bike show, “Vettes, Pets & Families”. The event benefits the Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society and the Salvation Army Food Bank. With the beautiful South Central Kentucky sun shining bright, approximately 150 cars traveled to the Corvette Assembly Plant to show their cars. A special group of Cadillac XLR owners also came to the show from all over the country, celebrating a 10 year reunion. The Cadillac XLR was built at the Corvette plant from 2003-2009.
There were plenty of activities for visitors, including a craft show held by GM retirees, demonstrations by Adam’s Car Care products, as well as booths and displays from the many sponsors of the show, including Campbell Chevrolet, Lost River Knife Company, Hilton Garden Inn, Quick Fuel Technology, RJ Classic Cars, and Car Art Work. The Humane Society was on hand with pets for adoption and a friendly little dog stole the heart of one of the show’s sponsors and found his forever home. This is a banner year for the show, as nearly $20,000 was raised. The proceeds will be divided equally between the club’s two named charities.

Cadillac XLR & Corvette Caravan - Lodge Dinner 9/27/13
What a great evening it was to caravan to the Barren River Lake State Park! The Corvettes met in Spielman Circle at the Corvette plant then headed over to the National Corvette Museum to meet up with our XLR friends. From there we took the back roads to the Lodge for Dinner. Captain Joe Jakub led the caravan and provided police assistance to block intersections. We even had the blimp hovering over us - they must have wanted to get a good look at all those awesome cars lined up!
Burgess Falls State Park - Sparta, TN 8/17/13
A day trip to Burgess Falls State Park in Sparta, TN proved that Corvette people can be outdoorsy people too! It was overcast and in the 70's - perfect weather for a hike and a picnic lunch. The park consists of three separate waterfalls, each getting larger as you descend. Each was beautiful in its own right and we had a great time taking in nature's beauty. The picnic lunch was a fun way to top off the end of the hike.
Arthritis Foundation Car Show - Dublin, OH 7/13/13
A group of BGACC members ventured up to Dublin, Ohio to attend the 2013 Arthritis Foundation Car Show to support our friend and club member, Mark Thomas. This show boasted approximately 1500 beautiful cars but the star of the show was the new C7 Corvette Stingray with guest speaker, Dave Tatman. Lots of fun, good food but the best thing is always checking out the cars and driving our Corvettes!
60th Anniversary Celebration - Corvette & Dave 6/27/13
So apparently 60 years ago two great things occurred - the birth of Corvette and the birth of our Club President, Dave Chrisley! To celebrate both events, club members gathered at Mariah's restaurant for dinner. And of course, cake was served for the birthday boy.
Hot Rods Baseball Game - June 22, 2013
A great group of our club members and plant employees gathered at the Hot Rods Ballpark to watch the game vs. the Lansing Lugnuts. We enjoyed a nice buffet, good company and the Hot Rods won the game 9-1! To start things off, our club members, led by Plant Manager Dave Tatman, were able to drive around the field in our Corvettes.
Bash Dinner Caravan - April 2013
Photos of our awesome caravan of 40+ Corvettes that traveled from the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant to the Barren River Lake State Park with all of our out of town members and guests. Thanks to all for joining us and creating such an incredible sight!
German Food at Helga's - April 6, 2013
A group from the club made a run to Radcliff, KY to the German Cottage Cafe where we had authentic German cuisine prepared by our host, Helga. Delicious food, good friends and a great excuse to get out and drive our Corvettes!
